10 new U.S. states, for a total of 19, are added to the list of territories whose residents will be able to enter Costa Rica by air, to Juan Santamaria Internacional (SJO), in San Jose, and Daniel Oduber International (LIR) in Liberia, Guanacaste .

As of September 1, in addition to residents of New York, New Jersey, New Hampshire, Vermont, Maine, and Connecticut, people who live in Maryland, Virginia, and the District of Columbia will be able to enter Costa Rica. On September 15, residents of Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, Colorado, Washington, Oregon, Wyoming, Arizona, Nuevo México, Michigan and Rhode Island will also be allowed to enter.

“The entry of travelers from these 19 states is allowed because they currently have an epidemiological condition similar to or lower levels of contagion than those of Costa Rica,” said Tourism Minister Gustavo Segura.

Tourists from authorized states will be able to enter Costa Rica, even if their flight stops at an unauthorized destination, as long as they do not leave the airport.
