The German airline Lufthansa held a reception to mark the inaugural flights between Frankfurt and Costa Rica on Thursday, April 12th. These flights will operate twice a week (Thursdays and Saturdays).

On its first flight on March 29th, 279 passengers traveled on an Airbus A340-300. This inaugural flight was welcomed by Mauricio Ventura, Minister of Tourism, who highlighted the work done by the ICT in diversifying into new markets and attracting airlines.

“It is a pleasure and an honor for Costa Rica to receive the inaugural flight of one of the world’s most important airlines. It is a sign of trust towards Costa Rica,” said Minister of Tourism Mauricio Ventura in a statement sent to the media.

The new connection will be:

– LH518: FRA 13:45 – 17:55 SJO
– LH519: SJO 19:50 – 15:10 +1 FRA

With a flight time of approximately 11 hours.

Lufthansa, for its part, stated in a press release that the flight represents “a new direct option for tourists from around the world to access the country known as the green paradise of Central America.”
